A member of the legendary Berlin Philharmonic, Canadian horn virtuoso Fergus McWillam makes his much anticipated HSSB debut performing Concerto No.1 by Richard Strauss.Keeping our German theme, frequent HSSB guest James Gourlay will direct the HSSB inshimmering performances of Wagner’s Grand March from Tannhauser and Die Fledermaus Overture by Johann Strauss.

This event will come to a grand conclusion as the members of the Hannaford Youth Band will sit side-by-side with the HSSB for Festmusik der Staadt Wein by Richard Strauss.

This concert will also feature the world premiere of a new work by acclaimed composer Kelly-Marie Murphy, jointly commissioned by the HSSB and the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
