Description

A NEW DAY was written at the request of trumpeter David Robertson for convocations at the University of Western Ontario. The music has a majestic and accomplished atmosphere filled with joy and amazement, many of the emotions felt at a convocation ceremony. With all the images of the future appearing in the listener’s mind as they move through the piece, Venables brings in the theme of a new day, sparking thoughts of endless opportunity and aspirations for anyone beginning a new chapter in their lives.
