Description

Originally written as the first part of a triptych (Progressions) for the Hannaford Youth Program in Toronto, this lyrical PRELUDE presents the melody that will be transformed through the other two movements in its purest form. A mysterious middle section presents a contrasting sound world before the melody returns with a new vibrancy from a more active accompaniment and new mallet percussion line. It is written in five parts plus percussion, and is suitable for a beginning ensemble.
